Diarmuid: Actually, really sorry Li, I’m just going pop out for a minute.
Yang Li: Eh?
Diarmuid: Yes, sorry… just popping out.
Yang Li: Ok, see you in a second. Hmm, Diarmuid 說他需要 pop out, pop out這也是我們今天要學的新字。 當我們說 pop out, 意思就是出去一小會兒，馬上就回來。我想 Diarmuid 馬上就會回來的，說到就到。
Diarmuid: Hi Li, I’m back.
Yang Li: Oh, good.
I said "pop over for a cup of tea", not "pop into a cup of tea!"
Diarmuid: So, what’s our word for the day?
Yang Li: I’ve already explained it. Pop, as in pop out.
Diarmuid: Great – that’s a really common expression. I just popped out for a few seconds there and came back.
Yang Li: 就像 Diarmuid 說的那樣，pop out 是一個非常實用的說法，非常普遍。
Examples
A: Where’s Arthur? I wanted to tell him something.
B: Oh, he’s just popped out. He’ll be back in a minute.
Yang Li: Pop 這個動詞還有很多其他有用的用法.
Diarmuid: Yes, you can also pop in.
Yang Li: 如果你想具體表明你到哪裡去一小會兒，那麼你就可以說 pop in.
Diarmuid: And you can also pop over.
Yang Li: Pop over 就是從一個地方到另一個地方，一般是短距離。Over 在這就有過去的意思。
Examples
A: Can I come and see you?
B: Yes, pop over any time.
A: You remember Mark?
B: Yes.
A: He’ll be popping in later.
B: Great.
